Privacy policy

1. Who provides SmallTake

SmallTake is provided and maintained by Li Liu (刘俐). This policy applies to the SmallTake iPhone app and this support website. For support and privacy requests, use the SmallTake feedback form.

2. Data kept on your device

Scripts, drafts, recently deleted scripts, original videos and preferences stay on your device. The app has no account system, developer-operated script or video storage, advertising SDK or third-party analytics SDK. We do not automatically upload your scripts, recordings or speech recognition results.

Free trial usage is kept in device preferences and a device-only Keychain record. It is used to count remaining free recordings, not to identify you across apps or track advertising. Deleting a video or restoring a script backup does not reset usage. A Keychain record may remain after uninstalling. This is not cloud sync or a cross-device quota system. System backups depend on your Apple settings.

3. Camera, microphone, speech and face processing

Camera and microphone access is used for preview, recording and Voice Follow. Speech recognition requires Apple on-device recognition; if unavailable, the app does not fall back to cloud recognition. Recognition results are used to locate your place in the script.

Beauty effects process frames and facial landmarks on your device. SmallTake does not create identity profiles or retain facial templates for identification, and does not send face data to a developer server.

4. Photos, imports and sharing

Photos access is add-only, for saving videos you choose to save. The app does not read your photo library. File imports read only selected files. Export and sharing destinations are chosen by you, and those services may store or sync your files under their own policies.

5. Purchases

Apple handles payment and StoreKit purchase validation and restoration. SmallTake receives verified product and entitlement information needed to provide paid access, not your card details. Apple processes related account and payment data under its own policies.

6. Optional feedback and this website

The Feedback entry opens a third-party Feishu form. A description is required only if you decide to submit a form. Category, contact information and screenshots are optional. Nothing is submitted automatically.

The operator can access submitted feedback to investigate issues, reply if you leave contact information, improve the product and respond to data requests. We do not use it for advertising or sell feedback data. Retention is limited to what is necessary for those purposes. You may request access, correction or deletion using the same form, with enough detail to identify the submission. Do not include passwords, payment details or unrelated sensitive information.

Feishu processes the form under its service and privacy terms. This website uses Vercel hosting, with no added cookies, analytics scripts or advertising scripts. Hosting and form providers may process network request information needed to deliver and protect their services; this policy does not claim they keep no operational logs.

7. Retention and deletion

Deleting a script moves it to Recently Deleted, where you can restore it or confirm permanent deletion. It is not automatically cleared. The app retains a pre-restore script snapshot, which you can export or clear separately. Deleting scripts does not remove previously exported backups or snapshots.

Saving a video to Photos does not remove its local original. Local deletion requires confirmation. Recovery attempts retain interrupted originals for inspection. Uninstalling removes ordinary app data but may leave the Keychain trial record; Photos copies, exported files and submitted feedback are managed separately. Back up anything you want to keep before uninstalling.

8. Your choices and children

You may revoke camera, microphone, speech recognition and Photos permissions in system settings; related features may stop working. No advertising tracking is requested.

SmallTake is not specifically designed for children. If a child has submitted personal information that should not be retained, contact us through feedback to request its deletion.

9. Policy changes

Material changes to data handling will be reflected in this policy, the app and the App Store privacy information as appropriate. The effective date below identifies this version.
